St. Regis School – All School Trip Permission Form
Date of Trip: Wednesday, December 17, 2025
Destination: The Roxy Theater, Missoula, MT
Time: 8:30-2:00
Dear Parents/Guardians,
The student council has a school-wide field trip coming up, and the best part is that everyone
gets to go! This trip is all about showing students that you don’t need unhealthy behaviors like
substances or drugs to have fun. There are so many better, healthier ways to enjoy life. We want
students to experience activities that bring real joy, real memories, and real connection.
We also want students to see that choosing healthier activities doesn’t mean choosing boring
ones, it means choosing better ones. We will have more field trips throughout the year, and these
trips are a chance to have fun and be rewarded for making good choices.
Eligibility for future reward trips:
Students K–5 (per handbook pg. 20)
1. Attendance 90% or better
2. No more than 5 referrals in a semester (No ISS or OSS)
3. Cannot be a safety concern

4. Must be on trace academically (not ineligible)
Trip Schedule:
● Departure from School: Approximately 8:30 AM (after students have breakfast at
school)
● Activity: Travel to the Roxy Theater in Missoula, where students will enjoy snacks and
watch their assigned movie. Lunch will be provided after the movie.
● Return to School: Approximately 2:00 PM, allowing time for students to prepare for the
Secondary Christmas Concert, which begins at 2:45 PM.
Movie Details by Grade Level:
● Grades 5–12: Home Alone (1990) – Rated PG
○ Content Notes: Comedic, non-graphic violence (slapstick injuries like burns and
falls), mild language (“hell,” “damn,” “crap”), and themes involving family chaos
and burglars. Parental guidance is recommended for younger students (ages 7–9).
● Grades K–4: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966 Animated Special) – Unrated
(G/All Ages)
○ Content Notes: Minimal; some scenes may slightly scare very young children
(Grinch’s face, sleigh near cliff), but there is no real violence or profanity.
Chaperone Note: Although we would love to have parents join us, we are not able to
accommodate additional chaperones due to limited seating in the theater.
Important Note: This is a school-wide trip, but if your child will not be attending, you may
should keep them home that day.
Please complete and return this permission slip by Monday, December 15, 2025. If you have
any questions or concerns about the movie content, eligibility, or the trip, feel free to contact the
school office.
