Mrs. Cheesman

Welcome to Kindergarten. I am very excited for this school year. Here is a little information about myself. I grew up in Post Falls, Idaho. I attended Western Governors University for my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. I also attended Western Governors University for my Masters Degree in Elementary Mathematics Education. I am married with two girls, one is in college in Montana majoring in Elementary Education and the other is in college in San Francisco  majoring in Visual Effects and Animation. I enjoy spending time with my family traveling and relaxing at the river.

Kindergarten is an exciting time as children embark upon new adventures in the world of learning. This is a year of important transitions, as well as one in which acquisition of new skills is accelerated. Kinders develop fundamental work habits, appropriate social behavior, problem solving and decision making skills and of course academic skills. I will strive each day to make learning a fun and enriching process for your child. We will be using the Wonders Reading Curriculum and the Math Curriculum is My Math, both by McGraw-Hill. Your child will regularly have homework Monday through Thursday to reinforce the skill we are working on. They will be responsible to bring their homework folder that includes homework and other important school paperwork home and back each day. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call, email me, or stop by the classroom after school. Let's have a great year!
